چکیده

In this paper, we study the Diversity-Multiplexing Tradeoff (DMT) of the Decode or Quantize and Forward (DoQF) protocol recently proposed in [1] for the half duplex single relay channel. Our results show that this static relaying protocol achieves the 2 by 1 MISO bound for multiplexing gains r < 0.25. The DMT of the classical non orthogonal Decode and Forward (DF) protocol is also derived. We show that the DoQF protocol outperforms in terms of DMT the DF protocol on a range of low multiplexing gains, and performs as well as the latter on the rest of the range of multiplexing gains.

On the Achievable Diversity-vs-Multiplexing Tradeoff in Cooperative Channels

In this paper, we propose new cooperation protocols for coherent flat-fading channels consisting of two (half-duplex) partners and one cell site. In our work, we differentiate between the multiple access (up-link) and broadcast (downlink) channels. For the cooperative multiple access channel, we upper-bound the achievable diversityvs-multiplexing tradeoff by that of a point-to-point system with...

Diversity Multiplexing Tradeoff of the Half-duplex Slow Fading Multiple Access Channel based on Generalized Quantize-and-Forward Scheme

This paper investigates the Diversity Multiplexing Tradeoff (DMT) of the generalized quantizeand-forward (GQF) relaying scheme over the slow fading half-duplex multiple-access relay channel (HD-MARC). The compress-and-forward (CF) scheme has been shown to achieve the optimal DMT when the channel state information (CSI) of the relay-destination link is available at the relay. However, having the...

On the Achievable Diversity-Multiplexing Tradeoffs in Half-Duplex Cooperative Channels

In this paper, we propose novel cooperative transmission protocols for delay limited coherent fading channels consisting of N (half-duplex and singleantenna) partners and one cell site. In our work, we differentiate between the relay, cooperative broadcast (down-link), and cooperative multiple-access (up-link) channels. The proposed protocols are evaluated using Zheng-Tse diversity-multiplexing...

Limited Feedback Information in Wireless Communications : Transmission Schemes and Performance Bounds

This thesis studies some fundamental aspects of wireless systems with partial channel state information at the transmitter (CSIT), with a special emphasis on the high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) regime. The first contribution is a study on multi-layer variable-rate communication systems with quantized feedback, where the expected rate is chosen as the performance measure. Iterative algorithms e...

Multi-hop Cooperative Wireless Networks: Diversity Multiplexing Tradeoff and Optimal Code Design

In this paper, we consider single-source, single-sink (ss-ss) multi-hop relay networks, with slow-fading Rayleigh links and single-antenna relay nodes operating under the half-duplex constraint. We present protocols and codes to achieve the optimal diversity-multiplexing tradeoff (DMT) of two classes of networks. Networks belonging to the first class can be viewed as the union of K node-disjoin...
